Listen NowMusic has been at the center of Brandon Ratcliff’s life since the day he was born. Those roots run as deep as the Louisiana Bayou and as wide as the highways he grew up traveling with his legendary family's band. Grounded by his bluegrass & country blood, influences were merged into his soul from R&B, funk and pop to arrive at the Uptown Country sound that is distinctly his.
Raised in Cotton Valley, LA, the son of Suzanne Cox of the Grammy award winning Cox Family, his upbringing provided an invaluable foundation for his future. His formative years were spent honing his musicianship and digging deeper into a broad education for timeless music across all genres. He made the move to Nashville after high school where he lived with his honorary aunt Alison Krauss, learning about the business itself. He was offered a deal almost immediately, but he didn’t feel like he had found his true original sound just yet, so he turned it down to continue listening and learning. His guitar became a natural extension of himself, his voice came fully into his own, and most importantly, he found his perfect collaborative community.
His debut EP on Monument Records is led by the title track “Sometimes Always Never” and explores the seasons of a relationship. It is the first half of the album produced by Shane McAnally along with his collaborators Pete Good and AJ Babcock. The early success of his track “Rules of Breaking Up” lead the way to touring with Kelsea Ballerini, Brett Young and Keith Urban, appearances of the Spotify Viral Chart, the selection of a 2020 Pandora Ones to Watch artist, and the topping of Rolling Stone’s all-genre Breakthrough Artists chart. He recently released “Uncovered”, a three song project that explores the songs that most influenced him as an artist. As an artist he has accumulated over 50 million streams to date.
